Top #1.  Nicol Ann David

Nicol Ann David is the current world number 1 in women’s squash.  David was born in Penang, Malaysia in August 26, 1983. She is the pride of Asian squash and holds the distinction of being the first Asian woman to earn the top seed in this demanding sport.  She has twin wins in both the World Games and Asian Games, taking home the coveted gold medal each time.  She stamped her class in numerous Asian squash championships, winning the meet six times – an enormous achievement.

David picked up the sport early when she was 5 years old and has not looked back since. She turned pro in 1999 and quickly moved up the rankings. As a junior player, she won the World Junior title twice, in 1999 and 2001 a feat unparalleled to this day.
This year thus far, David predictably dominated a number of squash meets namely the Texas Open, Seoul City Open, Malaysian Open, Singapore Masters, World Open and Cathay Pacific Open, cementing her number one ranking in the world.

. Natalie Grinham

Natalie Grinham is an Australian born professional squash player who since 2009 plays for Netherlands.  Grinham was born on March 16, 1978 in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. She is currently ranked number 2 in the world. A high point in her career was in the 2006 Commonwealth Games where she took home gold in the singles, doubles, and mixed doubles divisions.  In the 2004 World Doubles Squash Championships, Grinham partnered with her sister, Rachael, to win the women’s double plum. She has reached the World Open finals thrice, managing to earn second place honors each time.

The number 3 spot is currently held by American Natalie Grainger.  Grainger is English by birth and was born in Manchester, United Kingdom on July 8, 1977.  Her family then moved to South Africa who for some time she also represented in professional meets. Grainer is a former world number 1 in the sport, earning the accolade in 2003.  She finished runner up in the 2002 World Open and 2004 British Open.
